Thank Fudge it’s Friday!
Another week has passed us by and ahead of me on the horizon is 10 days of all 3 kiddies home with me for half term.
Send luck, love and Gin. Sod the tonic.
I am seriously finding it so hard to narrow down my song every week. There are just too many to choose from!
This week I have gone for one of my favourite Guns’n’Roses songs – they will appear again at some point I’m sorry (not sorry). I know it isn’t one of their most well known, or happiest songs, but I LOVE the lyrics and sentiment behind it as well as the beautiful guitar playing by Slash. The guy is a rock god and I am beyond excited to be going to see the ‘almost’ original lineup later on this year in June. In fact, I am so excited I might need to get out the Tena lady…
Come on guys, it’s Friday. Put on your checked shirt, tiny denim shorts, top hat, turn a fan on so you have the wind in your hair and dust off that air guitar.
It’s time to rock.
Song: Civil War
Date of Release: 1991
Civil War by Guns and Roses is a protest song against war, referring to all war as “civil war” and stating that war only “feeds the rich while it buries the poor”. The most poignant lyrics in the song for me are these ones; “What’s so civil about war, anyway?”
Whoever said music isn’t powerful…
