#capturingtheday – Week 19 Roundup

It’s Sunday and it’s time once again for our #capturingtheday instagram roundup!

I have no idea where this week went. Gone in a blur of rushing about after the kids, freezing cold and gloomy days and running errands. I think it is safe to say the January blues hit me this week and I have been googling holidays to keep me feeling positive. I haven’t booked anything (though we are off to Dorset for Easter) but I am longing for a bit of European sunshine later in the year I think.

Myself and a mummy friend from school, Tamsin, have decided to go Sugar Free for February so I might be in an even worse mood come next weekend. It’s going to be hard but it’s all for a good cause. You can support us and donate (if you wish) by clicking this link. Yvonne has also been roped into it too (woo hoo!) so it’s a real team effort. If you fancy joining in, you can find out more detail on the Cancer Research UK website.

Hope you’ve all had a good week?

So, without further ado, here are my chosen images for this weeks #capturingtheday roundup…

My favourite photo from my lovely buddy across the miles, Yvonne, over at Double the Monkey Business is this one…

 Sun through the trees
Poor Yvonne has had a really rough week with a poorly little lad who has now shared his lurgie on with the rest of the family. Sickness, cabin fever and lots of washing. I hope you all feel better soon. I love this photo. Even on the most crap of days, just the sun peeking through the trees can perk you up and make the day feel less depressing.
Get well soon Monkey’s and Mummy.

#capturingtheday – Week 18 Roundup

It’s Sunday again and that means it’s time for our #capturingtheday roundup!

I have been man down with a flu type bug this weekend. It’s been a bit rubbish – body aches, head that feels like it wants to explode, shivers, burning up, the works – and despite the husband being home to ‘help’, he didn’t really. He reluctantly got up yesterday morning after the toddler started going bonkers to get up and then I was up by 10:30am because he was off out on a bike ride. The joys of being sick when you’re a mum, eh?!

Anyhow, I am feeling quite a bit better today which is good. Don’t have time for this being sick malarkey do we.

Hope you’ve all had a good week?

I have been LOVING the frosty mornings. I know they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but I do love how the frost has the ability to touch even the most mundane of things and make them look magical…

#capturingtheday – Week 17 Roundup

Another week has passed us by and grim January has definitely reared it’s ugly head here.

Grey clouds, rain, post-Christmas blues, desperation to see those first bulbs of spring pop up through the earth and a lust for chocolate whilst trying to eat more healthily.

We were forecast biblical snow, Thundersnow to be exact, on Thursday but it was more of a damp squib of a dusting. That said, it was enough snow to bring the whole of Surrey to a complete standstill. Mr Knutts takes 45 minutes to get back from work on a normal day. Snow day however, 5 hours. Yep, 5 sodding hours. You’d have thought councils might have gritted roads if they knew the snow was forecast but no, they would rather have pandemonium than spend a few quid on keeping the roads clear.

I’m ranting aren’t it.

See, told you January blues had hit.

Anyway, one thing that has cheered me up this week is seeing your #capturingtheday photos. Seriously, I know I say it every week but the caliber of photography out there is just amazing. Myself and Yvonne never tire of looking at your tagged photos and we were also pleased as punch that we went over 5k images tagged this week!

Woo hoo!

“Crack open another box of Ferrero Rocher Gemma!”

Oh alright, if you insist.

So, without further ado, here are my 4 featured images for this week’s #capturingtheday…

A gorgeous little face peeking out from a winter coat hood, a outcome of a family board game session summed up beautifully (that face!!),gorgeous Daddy and Daughter selfie and a little one catching snowflakes on their tongue.

Her boys said it was, “the best climbing frame ever”, and I am inclined to agree. My boys would be mind blow playing on this!

#capturingtheday – Week 16 Roundup

It’s the second week of January and our #capturingtheday roundup’s are back!

Happy New Year everyone!

Despite not doing a roundup for a few weeks as part of our Christmas break, myself and Yvonne have still been keeping our beady eyes on Instagram and we have been so overwhelmed at everyone’s photos! Christmas present frenzies, family walks, baking, drinks, food, you name it, it was shared with us. We hope you all had a wonderful time with your loved ones.

So, onto the new year! I wonder what 2017 has in store for us all?

Time to write a new chapter and make some new memories.

I had a lvoely Christmas but ate too much, drank too much and neglected my washing pile too long. This week has been a week for ‘catching up’ and sadly not in the coffee, cake and chat with a friend sense. Cleaning, washing, hoovering, household admin…all very rock and roll.

One highlight this weekend however has been mine and hubby’s 5th Wedding Anniversary. We got married after we had our first two kiddies (outrageous I know) and so despite being together for 12 years, we have only been ‘legally wed’ for 5 of them. We used it as an excuse to have a lovely child-free day walking around the British Museum and going for some scrummy dinner (with a few cocktails as well obviously). It was a really super day.

British Museum

Because we had a few weeks off, we couldn’t choose just 4 photos each, and seen as we make the rules around here, we chose 8 each this week. You’re all just too talented!
