Keep Calm, there’s nothing cake can’t solve! (Caketoppers cupcake Review)

Last month I was approached by a company to see if I would like to review 2 of their photo cupcakes. This lovely company is called, Caketoppers and they can pop a photo or logo of your choice on a cupcake, or a large cake, and post it to you or it’s lucky recipient. I mean, I had to think about it for, erm, 1.5 seconds and then I replied, “YES!!!!! I WOULD LOVE SOME CAKE!!!! Thank you, please”.

The ordering process is really easy.

You just go on the Caketoppers website, choose what size and flavour of cake you would like, choose the quantity, upload a photo of choice and click order. Simples!

A couple of days later, a vanilla cupcake and a chocolate one were delivered (in perfect condition) and then given to my brother, who’s birthday was coming up (great timing, eh?!) as a gift. I chose to have the cakes decorated with a Chelsea FC Logo (our family football team – let’s not start any heckling about the result at the weekend) and a photograph of a beloved tractor that belongs to my brother and my dad…yep, even at their age they love playing tractors (I’ve told you all before, men never grow up, their toys just get more expensive) 😉

The quality of the images on the cupcakes, as you can see, is great and the better the resolution is on the photo you send Caketoppers is, the better the image will be on the cake.

Sadly I didn’t get to scoff the cupcakes (how selfless am I?! Giving away cake is never easy!) but I have been reliably informed that the sponge on both the vanilla and the chocolate cupcakes was delicious! Soft, fluffy and light. These cakes, despite being posted, did not disappoint in the flavour and texture stakes. The icing was really thick, no scrimping here, but it wasn’t at all sickly. A good vanilla flavour to it and not claggy.

A light, fluffy, sponge cake. Vanilla flavoured.

A box of 6 photo cupcakes from Caketoppers will cost you £12.99 with an added delivery charge of £5.95. A little pricey for some maybe but seen as they can be posted to a friend or loved one as a gift, stress free, I don’t think it’s a bad price. The cupcakes are really of a wonderful quality and I would happily use the company again. You can also purchase batches of up to 60 cupcakes with a range of topper choices and flavours which would be great for a stress-free wedding, party, or for a business event.

Disclosure: I was gifted 2 photo cupcakes from Caketoppers for the purpose of this review. All thoughts, photos and opinions are my own.
